Time to play some catch up on this blog! Between school, work, family, keeping the house moderately clean and all the other things life has been throwing our way, this poor blog has definitely been put on the back burner the last 6-9 months.
I was looking through old blog posts though a few days ago and felt sad I haven’t been documenting things as much. It’s always so nice to have everything written down and in one place. And, I can’t say there’s been a blog post yet that I’ve regretted taking the time to quickly type up. So, here goes my attempt at playing some catch up. Hopefully I can make the time for more regularly blogging from here on out.
The first weekend in September we had the chance to drive up to Utah and spend some time camping with my family at Cherry Hill. A little back story, every year for the last 30 years or so my dads side of the family has had a family reunion at Cherry Hill over Labor Day weekend. So I grew up going every year and now get to take my own little family occasionally as well. Sadly, we aren’t able to attend this reunion every year, but this year it happened to work out just right with Broc’s school schedule and so off we went…
On our way…

One of my new favorite road trip treats…

We got to Utah late Thursday night and then Friday afternoon we were able to celebrate my nephews birthday before heading up to Cherry Hills. Here are some of the cousins enjoying their Madagascar Ice Cream Bars at the party. The birthday boy is the cute little man in the brown polo. He was very nice to plan his party for while Titan was in town! 🙂

The bounce house my sister rented for the party. Good thing my mom has a big backyard!

The bounce house ended up having a blower that didn’t work and after trying a few different things to get it to work, Broc saved the day by borrowing a leaf blower from his grandparents (they live next door to my mom) and then rigging it to the bounce house. Thank heavens it worked or we might have had some angry little ones on our hands. 😉 Glad he’s got looks AND a good head on his shoulders! He’s definitely a problem solver, this one!
Apparently the bounce house wore all the kids out!
Not only did my sister have a bounce house for the kids but she also had a pinata! Overall, I’d say the party was a success. 🙂 So glad Ti could be there for one of his cousins parties. Events like this are definitely one of the things we miss not being able to attend.

After the party, the whole family headed to Cherry Hills to set up camp and then it was off to dinner at Pepper Bellys. If you are ever near Cherry Hill, this is a great restaurant to try out. In fact, it’s become tradition for our family over Labor Day weekend.

Excited for a yummy dinner with family!

One of my favorite things about camping at Cherry Hills is that all the cousins get to play together all day every day. As you  can see, Saturday morning they didn’t even make it out of pajamas before the fun began!
After some play time it was off to the water park…

Ti having fun at the Pirate Pool!

Going down the Dragon Slides with Uncle Conner

And, of course, a quick break for lunch!

This was my lunch! 😉 Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats are another tradition we have when we go to Cherry Hill and they are by far my most favorite dessert/treat ever! LOVE them!

After swimming the family went mini golfing and this is what six kids under the age of seven mini golfing looks like! (Somehow Cortland, Ti’s cousin, escaped the picture but you get the idea).

Here Ti and his cousin Kyrie are trying to figure out where their golf balls went. I was so happy one didn’t fall back down and hit them in the face.
Another favorite activity for the little ones is Hampster Haven. Ti had fun going down the slides and playing in the ball pit with his cousins. The cute little guy above is his cousin, Kyler. Such a happy little dude!

Gotta refuel! 😉

Ti also enjoyed playing games with his cousins and debating with Uncle Aaron who is really in charge. We love this Disneyland game! A great one for kids and pretty entertaining for grown ups as well.

On Sunday, my Aunt Melanie hosted a bingo game for all the little kids. One look at the prize store and I’ll admit, I was tempted to play with my own card!

All of Ti’s prize winnings. We take our bingo very seriously! 🙂

Ti attempting to hit some sort of target with his new toy. Gotta love the shorts on backwards. We were camping though, so it doesn’t matter, right?! 🙂

And, after bingo, the fun continued with face painting! My sister Ada and her friend were super nice and offered to paint all of the kids’ faces. Ti requested to be Bowser! I had no idea how they were going to pull that one off, but they came through.
Pretty sure this kid doesn’t know how lucky he is! Water parks, face painting, bingo, mini golfing and more, all in one weekend. So grateful we got to spend time with family and do all those fun things. Especially since we probably won’t be able to make it again for a few more years.

After face painting we had to take off so we could head to St. George to spend some time with Broc’s grandparents at their cabin. Of course, we just HAD to stop at In-N-Out on the way. 🙂

One of the very few hamburgers I will actually eat! 🙂
If you made it this far, thanks for reading and staying with me while I play catch up. Up next, our trip to the Parker Cabin in Kolob, Utah. Stay tuned…
