While I was in Utah over Spring Break my mom and I made a stop at Seagull Book and I couldn’t help but pick up a few new books to add to our Easter Book Collection. I always try to buy a couple new holiday themed books each holiday in order to slowly build up our home library. I am a big believer in having a home filled with LOTS of books!

One of my favorite things about shopping at Seagull Book is their awesome prices! I was able to get all four books for less than $15.00!
We have added these all into our reading rotation the past couple weeks and Titan has enjoyed all of them. I will admit the the My First Story of the First Easter is a little more serious and not the first one Titan reaches for, but I feel it is important that he learns the real reason behind Easter and that it’s not just all about eggs, candy and a white bunny. 🙂 So, we’ve been reading that one on Sunday’s during quiet time in the afternoons or before bed.

As far as the other books are concerned, Titan really liked that the Curious George book came with a set of stickers that he can use to create his own picture and story with.
…and I liked that it was a cute story with some educational value to it. I feel like that book was definitely well worth the $2.99 I paid for it! 🙂

Another fun one has definitely been Easter Egg Hunt because of the pop outs. Of course, after the first time we read it Titan said: “Mom, this book is kind of silly because it’s only fun the first time. After that, you know where the pop outs are.” – Funny though, that hasn’t stopped him from wanting to read it again each and every night since. 🙂

We also have like the Clifford book, I mean you can’t go wrong with a classic like Clifford, but it doesn’t have any extra’s beyond the story – so I don’t think it’s been AS exciting for Titan. Still happy I grabbed it though.

Overall I would say my trip was a success! Love when I can find some good deals on books!

this book is an incredible story of spirituality, love, and forgiveness. i started reading it on our cruise and could not put it down. what occured in rwanda is horrific and beyond my imagination. i cannot even fathom what it must be like to have lived through the experience. this book is a survivor’s story but it is also a message of hope & faith. it really put my own life and my complaining into perspective. my live is so blessed and i am so fortunate to have the life i have.
here are some quotes from the book that really stood out to me:
“i realized that my battle to survive this war would have to be fought inside of me. everything strong and good in me – my faith, hope, and courage – was vulnerable to the dark energy. if i lost my faith, i knew that i wouldn’t be able to survive. i could rely only on god to help me fight.”
“even a few minutes not spent in prayer or contemplation of god became an invitation for satan to stab me with his double-edged knife of doubt and self-pity. prayer became my armor, and i wrapped it tightly around my heart.”
“i was certain that god has a greater purpose for me, and i prayed every day for him to reveal it to me. at first i was expecting him to show me my entire future all at once – maybe with a flash of lightening and a clap of thunder thrown in for good measure. but i came to learn that god never show us something we aren’t ready to understand. instead, he lets us see what we need to see, when we need to see it. he’ll wait until our eyes and hearts are open to him, and then when we’re ready, he will plan our feet on the path that’s best for us…but it’s up to us to do the walking.”
” i knew that whatever i envisioned would come to pass if i had faith and visualized it with a pure heart and good intentions, and if it were something god thought was right for me. it was then that i realized that i could dream and visualize my destiny. i vowed i would always dare to dream for what i wanted. and i would only dream for beautiful things like love, health, and peace, because that is the kind of beauty god wants for all his children.”

“i was living proof of the power of prayer and positive thinking, which really are almost the same thing. god is the source of all positive energy, and prayer is the best way to tap into his power.”
what an incredible story, and what an even more incredible woman. my heart broke as i read her story, yet i felt so strongly the power of faith as she described her journey and her own story of healing. if the above quotes were not enough to peak your interest in the book, read it to better understand a part of this world’s history. this happened during our lifetime. i was amazed when i read this was occurring in 1994. i was 9 years old and probably in the 4th grade in 1994. if we could all learn the messages found in this book and give up our want for power, control, and money – the world would be completely at peace. it sickens me innocent people die for nothing more than power and control. basically in order for people to prove they are right and someone else is wrong. again, it really makes you take a look at your own life, reassess your priorities and if you are living a fulfilled life of love, health, and & peace.
all of humanity deserves to live lives of love, health, & peace. period.
i am reminded of this quote:
“the worth of souls is great in the sight of god is not an idle phrase but a heaven-sent declaration for our enlightenment and guidance. we must ever remember who we are and what god expects us to become.”

the mastery of love

have been reading “the mastery of love” by don miguel ruiz. it’s the second time i’ve read this book and i could read it several more times.

my favorite part of the book this time around was the magical kitchen analogy.

you have a magical kitchen where there is always unlimited amounts of wonderful food, so much that you have tons and tons to share so people are always coming over for dinners, snacks, & treats. each day the kitchen is fully restocked and replenished with everything and anything you could ever imagine. you have all the food you could ever need and more.

one day someone knocks on your door with a pizza and offers to give you the pizza and subsequent pizzas IF you will just do as they say. if you will take their lead and follow them in word and action.

of course you are going to tell them no. i mean you already have pizza galore in your stocked kitchen that you can have anytime you want so why would you accept this pizza with conditions?!? you wouldn’t. you simply don’t need it.

the magical kitchen is like love. we need to understand that we have all the love we need already within us. we don’t need to go searching for more. These may also be the foes of a man’s sexual life and can lead him to the sexual health of buy tadalafil online the man that is which is related to the natural sex pills. Thus, this online drugstore delivers some the best sildenafil tablet great quality medication at a very cost-effective price. With the invention of electronic cialis generic pharmacy media, you are now able to get your desired medicine sitting at home. Hence, with the proven efficiency of these ayurveda herbs, checking out the availability buying cialis in canada of Neem tablet and Shilajith supplements should be a great idea. we don’t need to be slaves to others in order to get our love fix. if we will simply realize we have an unlimited supply of love within us we won’t go searching for someone else to provide it for us, we won’t become love junkies dependent on a supplier and their demands. we won’t need to accept the offers of others that come with conditions. we can simply enjoy love and give of it freely as well as accept it freely. real true love does not have conditions or agreements tact on to it.

i highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to think about love in a way you’ve probably never thought before. its an easy read. can be read in an afternoon or two. happy reading.
