September for me is always the start of fall! I realize the first day of fall isn’t usually until the end of September, but I start putting up the fall decorations and pulling out my sweaters and boots September 1st. πŸ™‚Β Here is our September 2014 in photos…
I was cleaning out Ti Guy’s room and suddenly a lot of his toys and things were “new” again. Funny how that happens with kids, right?! He found a bunch of his dress up clothes (costumes I’ve picked up on clearance after Halloween) and decided this day was a great day to be Mario!
The little man hard at work on his school work.
This little cutie turned 2 months old in September and this was one of my most favorite 0-3 month outfits. In fact, I also purchased it in the 3-6 month size as well. πŸ™‚
There aren’t A LOT of lunch restaurant options here in our area (well not as many as we were used to in CO and UT) but two of our favorite spots have definitely been Sweet Frog for yogurt…
…and Chipolte for burritos and their guacamole!
Baby Girl practicing with her binkie. We thought for a day or two she might be a binkie baby, but it never stuck. She prefers her two fingers, her middle finger and ring finger, instead.
Hanging out at church in the Mother’s Room. Since I teach Gospel Doctrine every week during second hour, this is usually where Chayse and I were the last half of first hour until Chayse was able to start eating some solids at around 4-5 months. I would nurse her and try to get her to nap so she’d be good for dad or whomever had to hold her so I could teach.
Love seeing my kitchen table full of school stuff and activities for the little man.
Hanging out at Ti Guy’s first Flag Football practice.
Every month all of the residents in Broc’s program at the hospital get together for a dinner and this month they went to our favorite Crepe place!
I LOVE the outdoor dining at the Crepe place!
In August I signed Titan up for a Pen Pal type of exchange. We only did it for a few months but we were able to receive some pretty cool things from places like Scotland & Canada.
Titan checking out the fish at the local library. There are two locations near our house and Titan likes this one for their fish and play area.
Feeding the library robot! Put a coin in and it lights up and makes all sorts of funny noises.
Chayse after her shots! She was so good. She got a little upset during the shots but then was fine as soon as I picked her up and then asleep in her carseat within 5 minutes!
And when we got home, she was pretty happy with her sparkly bandaid the nurses located just for her!

One Saturday afternoon, Broc and I fit in a quick date. We got a babysitter for Titan but didn’t dare leave Chayse yet since she wasn’t really on a schedule yet. It was so nice to get away for an hour, even though I did have to share some of that hour. πŸ™‚
Love watching Chayse and Broc together!
More flag football practice…
Baby Girl would usually nap during the practice, which I couldn’t believe because they were SO loud!
Another visit to the library. Of course we have to stop and check out their selection off Wii games!
$5.00 flowers from our local grocery store! I grabbed these on a whim one day and couldn’t believe how long they lasted. I’ve gotten them a few times since and they always last at least ten days. Not bad for $5!
And more time in the Mother’s Room. Sometimes it’s just really hard being a two month old! πŸ™‚

Parker Cabin | Zion’s Kolob Canyons

After we spent a couple days at Cherry Hill over Labor Day weekend with my family, we drove to St. George to spend some time with Broc’s grandparents at their cabin in Zion’s Kolob Canyons. We were able to enjoy the gorgeous mountain views, do some fishing, ride the four wheelers, and just spend some time way from the craziness of every day life.

Here are some (or a lot) of our favorite memories from the trip…

Our view while driving to the cabin.

This little man loves to roll down his window, put his hand out and then just zone out. Does it every time we get in the car.

I love the drive up to the cabin. Such a scenic drive!

Our car isn’t quite equipped for off-roading, so we left our car at the Fly Shop and then took four wheelers into the cabin. Ti got to hang out here with his Great Grandma Parker and eat ice cream while we went to get the four wheelers.

The Parker Cabin!

Broc’s grandparents have some hummingbird feeders out on their porch and it was surprisingly very entertaining to watch the hummingbirds. There was one hummingbird in particular that was very possessive of the feeder (we learned his is a Rufous Hummingbird) and he would chase all the other birds away. Another bird would come up to the feeder and the Rufous would literally zoom out of a nearby tree to chase it away. Apparently the Rufous Hummingbird is the feistiest hummingbird in North America. Who knew?! (Goes to show learning can happen anywhere, anytime!) πŸ™‚

This is how I spent a lot of our time. A good book, diet coke, fresh air and mountain views. What more can you ask for?!

My boys! Ti loved the four wheelers!

I loved the four wheelers too…until I decided to take on a ditch and the ditch won.
Don’t worry, other than being super sore and having some cuts on my arm, both I and the four wheeler were ok. Go big or go home, right? πŸ™‚

Some friends of the Parkers own a cabin up the road with a mini playground. Ti loved riding the four wheelers up to the playground to swing and run around.

Another favorite of Ti’s was riding on Papa Parker’s tractor! Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip with Ti without about a hundred pictures all with one funny face or another. πŸ™‚

Ti “helping” Great Grandpa Parker drive the tractor. It was so fun to watch the interaction between these two. I am really happy Titan will have these memories of his great grandparents. πŸ™‚

On this trip we finally go to find out what the Duck Dynasty craze is all about! I will admit, I had my doubts about this show, but after the first episode – I was hooked! Such a funny and entertaining show! If you haven’t jumped on the Duck Dynasty bandwagon yet, I highly suggest you do now. (Thanks Conner & Ashley for letting us borrow the first season!)

Getting ready for some Duck Dynasty! Loved how quiet and relaxing the evenings were at the cabin.
My little goof ball!

Bud the pug. Such a funny little dog. And, one of the few dogs Titan actually likes!

Just some nature we enjoyed. Ti couldn’t believe the water droplets were still so perfectly formed on the leaf.

One of the few places in his life Titan has been allowed to throw rocks.

Titan with his fishing license.

The lake!

We took Titan out fishing on this lake and were literally the only ones on the lake. I guess that’s what happens when you go on the Tuesday after Memorial Day!

My boys.

I found the container for the bait rather humorous!
Say cheese!

Titan’s first fishing trip. It was very nice of Grandpa Parker to take us out on the lake and do the majority of the work. We would have been lost without him!

Broc and his mini me.

If you are wondering what I did on the fishing expedition. I took pictures (obviously), helped hold the net here and there and enjoy some diet coke will taking in the amazing view!

Ti learning about fish bait and worms.
Ti is definitely a Parker. πŸ™‚

Titan’s first catch!
Seeing how proud he was of himself made the whole trip worth it! I can’t say I’m a huge fishing fan, but for this smile and all his excitement, I would do it all over again!

Grandpa Parker (Ti’s Great Grandpa) teaching Titan how to hook the fish, etc.

Ti and Broc with the fish we caught.
Funny story, as we caught each fish we would hook it to a line that was attached to the boat. At the end, Grandpa Parker showed Titan how you gut and clean the fish. Ti wasn’t too thrilled by this. He thought we were catching and releasing and they were just tagging along for the ride. It gave us a good opportunity to talk to him about how you should only catch what you plan to eat, etc. Of course, he was very happy to hear that Great Grandma and Grandpa Parker were going to cook and eat the fish later and that he didn’t have to. So happy I don’t have an avid fisher on my hands! πŸ˜‰
My arm on Day 2. How the human body heals itself is absolutely amazing to me.

Four wheelin’

My little tough guy! πŸ˜‰

More scenic views from our drive out of the canyon.

I literally could have stayed up on the mountain for another week or two. There is just something so calming about being away from life and in nature. I felt like I could actually relax and breathe. (Which is saying something for me. I am NEVER relaxed! Just ask Broc!) πŸ˜‰

Not even 10 minutes into the drive to St. George and Titan was out! Guess we wore him out. It’s hard playing all day and being out in the fresh mountain air. πŸ™‚

After we drove down off the mountain we stayed at the Ross Condo for two nights so I could work and we could enjoy a little bit of St. George. The Pizza Factory and Nielsens Frozen Custard were our very first stops after dropping our luggage off at the condo.

No explanation required for this awesomeness!

Where I worked two different mornings. I feel so lucky to have a job that I can do anywhere there is internet. It definitely makes travel and family time a lot easier to navigate.

On our way out of town on our last day we decided to give Swig a try. We had heard A LOT of awesome things about their Dirty Diet Coke and Sugar Cookies…

..and niether disappointed. Swig, you need to come to Colorado Springs!

Even Titan approves!

i mentioned yesterday that we went to a christmas party over the weekend that was polar express themed. the little man was given the above ticket and bell at the party and i have carefully tucked each of them away for different reasons.

each year since ti guy was born we have purchased a christmas ornament for him & i have tried to make sure they have some sort of meaning. this year i was planning on picking one up during our time in utah, but then he received this bell from his first ever visit with santa at the party and i knew it would be the perfect keepsake ornament for him this year. now every time i see this ornament i’ll remember him looking at santa in absolute awe and ever so reverently whispering “santa!”.

the ticket i have slid onto my inspiration board because i love a the scripture that is printed on the back of it, here is what is one the back of the ticket:

 BELIEVE

9 believe in God, believe that he is, and that he created all things both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.

10 and again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God, and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now if you believe these things see that you do them.

mosiah 4:9-10

the word “believe” has always held such magic and power to me. so naturally i loved the theme of the ticket and that scripture. such a good reminder for this time of year. another good reminder is this song i’m going to leave you with. it’s josh groban singing “believe” which one of my all time favorite christmas songs ever. enjoy!
