Utah Trip | The Miller Motor Sports Park

By far one of the most fun and memorable things we did the last time we were in Utah was to visit the Miller Motor Sports Park and do their Group Karting where you get to race around a track in their karts at speeds up to 50mph!

While they do have a Junior Kart option, all of the kids in my family were under the age of 8 when we went, so we opted just to make it an adults only night with my parents and most of my siblings and their spouses. Of course, Chayse got to tag along because she couldn’t be left with a babysitter since she was still just exclusively nursing.

The first session we did, I didn’t have nearly as much fun doing because I was getting used to the track and the kart and I kind of thought, “what’s the big deal?” LOL. The second time around though once I got going faster and was more comfortable, I wanted to keep going and wish we had time for a 3rd and 4th session! It was SO much fun!

You can only have so many karts on the track at a time, so we divided all of the adults into two groups. The first time, we did girls in one group and boys in another group and the second time we mixed up the groups according to everyone’s time on the first session.

Speaking of times, they will show you at the end of each session on the computer what everyone’s times were but they don’t ever print them out. So make sure to grab a quick picture of the screen if you want to be able to remember everyone’s time for bragging rights! 😉

Like I mentioned, Chayse was too little to be left with a babysitter so she came along for the fun and spent most of the time asleep in her car seat and we just took turns watching her on our off times. I was a little worried it would be too loud or they wouldn’t really have a place we could sit with her near the track, but they have a tented area right by the track where she did just fine and where the person watching her could still see everything that was going on.20141013_174019

And when she woke up from her nap, she even got to try out one of the head socks (the oh so fashion forward thing you get to wear under your helmet!) and stand by the track watching daddy race. On the head socks, f you happen to have one lying around your house, you know from your pro go karting days or something, you can take it with and you will get $2 off your first session. Don’t have one? 😉 They are included in the pricing I mentioned above, and you get to take them home with you. So if you live in Utah and plan on going back, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to hold onto it for future visits!

Overall, this was one of the best date nights Broc and I have gone on and it was a very fun group event that I was pleasantly surprised by. I’d definitely do it again in the future!

Like closing down for good in October or just for the season?! That’s SAD if it’s permanent!
